On Friday, April 7, the Cate community welcomed potential students to the Mesa to experience and indulge themselves in everything Cate has to offer. Many students were lucky enough to host and tour prospective students through classes on Friday, as well as give them a taste of student life, perhaps eating in the dining hall, playing ping pong in upper Booth, or grabbing a snack from the Blue Ewe before second period. The buzz amongst the crowd of potential Rams was truly thrilling. It was a joy to show these new students around and include them in day-to-day activities.
Students were lucky enough to spend the day with a great group of eager students, showing off the beautiful campus and incredible teachers. Something particularly special was showing them little things about life at Cate that make days here more meaningful– from petting campus dogs as they wander by during passing periods to spending free blocks in the old gym playing knockout or having a genuine conversation with a teacher in line for lunch at Booth Commons.
An anonymous freshman said, “The revisit prospects brought an abundance of joy to the Cate community. Their excitement as I toured them made it feel as though they were already part of our community.” This pretty much sums up the general excitement to welcome the class of 2027 this fall.
