Guicho’s ZA Critics' Pick ★★★★★

901 Linden Ave., Carpinteria

Atmosphere: Calm and clean. The open floor plan and kitchen connect all parts of the restaurant and give a homey feel. The waitstaff is friendly and helpful, though the decor is a bit sparse with limited outside seating.

Noise Level: Moderately low.

Recommended Dishes: Fusilli, special fusilli, chicken sandwich, tiramisu

Price: $$ (moderate)

Hours of Operation: Tuesday to Sunday 11:30 am to 8:30 pm; closed on Mondays.

A local restaurant in Carpinteria, Guicho’s is a delectable choice to add to your limited Carp dinner rotation. Guicho’s provides comfort and stability with its consistent and carefully curated menu of around 20 items. Its open kitchen provides a very personable environment in this bright restaurant on the corner of Linden and 9th Streets. Although Carpinteria has a variety of Italian restaurants, ranging from the upscale Giannfranco’s to Pizza Man Dan’s, many find themselves at Guicho’s more often than not for its affordable, quick, and tasty service. It also guarantees a sense of safety and proof of following health regulations; no one will be poisoning you in front of your own eyes! Personal favorites include the fusilli special and the chicken sandwich., while the crème brûlée and tiramisu are always reliable dessert options. Their pasta has a perfect ratio of sauce to toppings to noodles and manages to be filling without leaving you feeling too heavy. When you are craving something savory and sweet, Guicho’s is a safe bet. Though you might feel thrown off by the Tyler the Creator and Playboi Carti played by the very young waitstaff, the Gen Z on aux will still bring you steaming hot and delicious pasta.
